How to Contact US Embassy Kabul?


Afghan SIV applicants wishing to contact US Embassy Kabul for their case inquiry can submit inquiry requests using the new Online Inquiry Form. The US Embassy Kabul is no longer accepting inquiries submitted via emails.

Very Important Note: US Kabul Embassy will not answer questions that have already been answered on their Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page. Please review the FAQ page first before submitting inquiry.

Some Definitions:

  1. Surname: The family or last name as provided in Afghan electronic passport.
  2. LPR: Lawful Permanent Resident – This means you are a Green Card holder.

Please fully and clearly explain your question in English language when submitting the form. Do not send empty greetings alone. You need to include your full message and ask your question in your first message. Provide any background or clarification as necessary.


What to avoid?

Avoid sending messages such as these:

  1. Salam. How are you?
  2. Hi. I have a question. Can you help me?
  3. Hello. I am waiting since 27 April no up date please let me know what should I do?
  4. When will I get my medical exam?
  5. I have been waiting for a long time, when will I get visa issued?

What to write?

A sample message could be like:

  1. My son, Zabi Amarkhail, name is incorrectly spelled as Zabe Amarkhail in his DS-260 application. I would like this misspelling to be fixed in the DS-260 application.
  2. I want to add my daughter that was born on September 21, 2019 in Laghman, Afghanistan to my SIV case. Her passport copy along with Birth Certificate (Tazkira) with English translation has been attached in PDF format.
