How to Fix Missing SIV Employee Badge

As part of the Afghan Special Immigration Visa (SIV) Chief of Mission (COM) application, the Employee Badges are required to be scanned and included in your SIV application for COM approval.

What happens if Employee Badge is not included in SIV application?

After your SIV application is reviewed and if a required document such as Employee Badge is found to be missing, you will receive a “Missing Document” email notification informing you to submit the required missing document.

The Employee Badge tends to be the most frequently missing document notification received by the SIV applicants.

How to prevent receiving the missing documents notification email?

The best method to avoid receiving missing documents notification email is to review your SIV application and review the requirements before you submit your SIV application.

Five items are required for COM approval:

  1. Verification of Employment in Afghanistan (HR Letter)
  2. Letter of Recommendation
  3. Updated Form DS-157, Petition for Special Immigrant Classification for Afghan SIV Applicants (2022 version)
  4. Evidence of Afghan Nationality (Afghan Passport or Tazkera)
  5. Employee Badge(s)

If you do not have any of these documents, then you must write a detailed written explanation to explain why you do not have the required document in your SIV application email.

Note: The HR Letter and Letter of Recommendation are mandatory and are 100% required. You must submit these letters and they must meet the SIV requirements.

The recommendation letter can be written by other non-US citizen direct supervisors. Your supervisor does not have to be US citizen anymore.
