Are You Planning To Go To Africa For Your SIV Processing?

Many Afghan SIV applicants have been considering going to countries like Rwanda, Kenya, Ghana, or South Africa, hoping for a faster process. While it’s ultimately your choice, I strongly advise making informed decisions instead of blindly following others who may have found shortcuts.
It’s important to note that there are no guaranteed shortcuts to obtaining US SIV visas, as each case goes through different administrative processing times. So, don’t expect the same processing time as others.
If you still want to pursue SIV processing in an African country, please consider the following factors.
  1. Can you obtain a visa and stay in a third country for 6 to 12 months while waiting for your SIV?
  2. Are you financially prepared and able to cover your own expenses and support your family for 6 to 12 months while waiting for your SIV?
If you can’t answer “Yes” to both questions, it’s important to reconsider your decision and explore other options for SIV processing including waiting for the CARE relocation flight.

Please be aware that if you choose to go to another country on your own, including Qatar, the US government and CARE team will not help you. You will be responsible for all travel costs, accommodation, food, and other expenses.
You are not allowed to visit, enter, or stay in the Qatar camp if you go to Qatar on your own without CARE.

To receive travel support and accommodation, your travel must be arranged by CARE!
