Afghan Refugee website is proud to announce our newest partnership with Refugees Rise non-profit organization.
Here is a short introduction about this newly launched organization:
Refugees Rise was conceived of and founded by Naweed Yousufi, a Special Immigrant Visa holder from Afghanistan who experienced the resettlement process first-hand. Through his own experience and by witnessing the experiences of other resettled SIVs and refugees in his community, he gained unique insight into the challenges refugees face and the areas in which support is most needed.
As a new non-profit 501(c) organization, Refugees Rise’s mission is two-fold:
- Provide critical support to refugees seeking resettlement.
- Equip resettled refugees with the knowledge and skills necessary
to become contributing members and leaders in their new
For those seeking resettlement, Refugees Rise will offer advocacy and assistance with immediate needs. Post-resettlement, we will support refugees through cultural competency training, education counseling, skill development, advocacy, and by acting as a bridge between refugees and government agencies. Volunteers will be critical to providing the manpower necessary to fulfill our mission. Refugees Rise will rely on grants and private donations to fund our work in accordance with federal regulations governing non-profit funding.
