Missing Documents and Afghan SIV Application Delay

Many Afghan SIV applicants are unintentionally causing delays and slowing down their application process when they fail to submit all of their required documents.

This blog post attempts to give a simple, summarized list of documents that needs to be send to NVC when submitting your i-360 or DS-260 application.

 

1. i-360 stage documents

  • Completed form i-360 ( Watch tutorial video )
  • Afghan electronic passport copy
  • Original Afghan taskera with English translation
  • Copy of your recommendation letter
  • Copy of your COM approval letter

 

2. DS-260 stage documents

Everyone needs to fill out and submit DS-260 application for each person in your case.

If you are single, then need these documents:

  • Afghan electronic passport copy
  • scanned copy of Afghan taskera with English translation
  • Afghanistan police certificate is not required!
  • Completed ” Refugee Benefit Election Form “
  • Completed ” DS-234 form “

 

If you are married, then need these documents:

  • Afghan electronic passport copy for yourself, your wife and all children under age 21
  • Scanned copy of Afghan taskera with English translation for yourself, your wife and all children under age 21
  • Copy of marriage certificate (Nikah Khet) with English translation
  • Afghanistan police certificate is not required!
  • Completed ” Refugee Benefit Election Form “
  • Completed ” DS-234 form “

 

If your divorced, but have children you want to take with yourself to USA:

  • Copy of your divorce certificate with English translation
  • Afghan electronic passport copy for yourself and all children under age 21
  • Scanned copy of Afghan taskera with English translation for yourself and all children under age 21
  • Afghanistan police certificate is not required!
  • Completed ” Refugee Benefit Election Form “
  • Completed ” DS-234 form “
